Paul Carney
Chair of Trust

Paul is a former PE teacher and sports coach, and currently the Director of Sport & Active Health at Canterbury Christ Church University. I have over twenty years experience in Higher Education leadership and I am a member of the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) Senior Managers Executive and national Advisory Board.

Damian Collins OBE
Trustee

Damian Collins is a member of Parliament for Folkestone and Hythe. He joined as a trustee 8 years ago to support our work in community.

Sarah Arana-Morton
Trustee

​​Sarah Arana-Morton is a business leader with 25 years of experience in leading data and technology enterprises. A customer-first mindset, positive social impact, and inclusive leadership aligned with the values of The Sports Trust. Sarah explains "The Sports Trust is transforming the area for the better - especially providing new and exciting opportunities for young people to become active and engaged in diverse Sports. The potential to have an even greater impact in the future."

Jack Folkestone
Trustee

Jacks professional background lies in predominantly technology-centric industries, focussing on strategic operations and data enhancement. Currently Jack works for Digital Land Solutions (Land App), working on digitalising the Land Economy.

Zoe Camp
Trustee

Day to day, Zoe is solicitor - partner in a law firm, specialising in private client advisory work. Zoe joined The Sports Trust to contribute skills and local knowledge to a key community organisation.

Steve Hughes
Trustee

Steve wanted to volunteer and offer something back into the community in Folkestone. His children have been fortunate to benefit from the fantastic facilities that The Sports Trust run, so this was a great opportunity to get involved and support the team.

Briony Walsh
Safeguarding Trustee

Briony has a sporting background as a runner, and was previously an Ambassador for Shepway Sports Trust. Whilst they were an Ambassador they won Sportswoman of the year. Briony is a qualified Athletics Coach, and Personal Trainer and ran their own Physical Activity business, now they work in Public Services and safeguard people everyday at work.

Mark Greenwood
Finance Trustee

Mark is a fully qualified chartered accountant, who spent a large part of his early career working in and around Folkestone. They are now a partner in a Kent based practice.

Peter Dunton
Trustee

Peter work in academic researcher, technical and facilities management. He wanted to join the board to do what he can to support an amazing, local, effective and transformative organisation. To be part of something really trying to help his community and to work with some truly inspirational people.

Sophie Downey
Trustee

Sophie is the Founder of Girlsontheball. Their aim is to promote women’s football in the UK through a dedicated online platform.
