Who we are

Founded in 2013, The Sports Trust has been a part of Folkestone, Hythe and Romney Marsh celebrating sport as a powerful tool for social improvement.

As a not-for-profit charity, our work across schools, sports clubs and the local community dismantles barriers to participation in sport and promotes our firm belief that sport and exercise are essential components of a healthy and united society.

Our Mission

We are committed to creating inclusive and inspiring environments for people to love sport and exercise, whatever their motivations may be.

Charity Pillars

Through our multi-faceted approach, we will diversify sporting landscapes, champion communities and create meaningful opportunities.

We will achieve this through the five pillars of work:

Support local people to remove barriers to sports

Transform facilities into safe, sustainable and inclusive space

Offer expertise to shape and improve the sporting landscape

Network with sports clubs and share best practice

Encourage people of all ages to create a life-long love for sport and physical activity

Who we are Clubs

We embed physical activity within the culture of every school, inspiring young people to build life-long loves of sport. We provide high quality sports opportunities that enable:

  • Access to coaching and competitions
  • Pathways to employment, academies and sports clubs
  • Entrance to our world-class venues

Sports Clubs

We champion sports clubs and provide focussed support and guidance. To ensure sustainability and growth, we help with the following areas:

  • Marketing initiatives
  • Coaching opportunities
  • Access to resources
  • Funding opportunities
  • Training and workshop
Who we are Clubs
Three Hills Frontage

We work with local communities to break down barriers to participation in sport, and focus on improving resources and opportunities for under-represented groups. Through collaboration, we work to ensure that:

Physical activity sessions are safe, inclusive and accessible
Community volunteers feel connected and empowered
Participants are supported to take ownership and influence change

We proudly operate three dynamic and successful sports venues: Folkestone 51, Three Hills Sports Park and Folkestone Sea Sports. We ensure that each venue:

  • Runs sustainably
  • Provides safe and inclusive spaces for all members of the community
  • Promotes our charity values
  • Has a zero tolerance policy for discrimination
  • Celebrates sport and inspires passion
