Active PRIDE is our friendly and inclusive project that is open to all LGBTQIA+ people.
We believe that sport should be everyone’s game and recognise the need to create safer spaces for people to love being active. Active PRIDE champions LGBTQIA+ people through free, weekly sport sessions.
Through a partnership with Folkestone Pride, sessions have been created in collaboration with participants. Active PRIDE aims to increase participation in sport whilst improving opportunities and supporting wellbeing.
We stand strongly against discrimination against LGBTQIA+ in sport, and we are dedicated to creating safer spaces and advocating for representation and visibility.
Active PRIDE is a really fun way to try something new, get moving and meet other people from the LGBTQIA+ community. All sessions are really friendly with an emphasis on having a good time, regardless of experience or ability.

We have an exciting variety of sessions that are designed to develop new skill sets and interests. Active PRIDE offers football, climbing, boxing, skateboarding and paddleboarding within its programme of activities.
Following on from the impacts of the pandemic, Folkestone Pride reported increases in community isolation. Sport provides vital opportunities to improve well-being through social opportunity and physical activity, releasing endorphins and enhancing a sense of belonging.
Our delivery team understand the importance of embracing everyone’s unique identities and will be led by them on how that identity is made up. They do not make assumptions about others’ gender, race, class, (dis)ability, faith, trans status or sexual orientation.
Our newest venues, F51 and Folkestone Sea Sports have been designed with gender-neutral toilet and changing facilities. Whilst we work to develop this offering at Three Hills, we ensure that gender-neutral facilities are available during Active PRIDE sessions in the interim.
Where possible, LGBTQIA+ coaches and instructors will always be prioritised in supporting sessions. Where this is not possible, our Active PRIDE team consists of dedicated Allies who have undergone Allyship training with Stonewall.
