Fun and Friendly Fitness for Over 50’s

Active 50 is our community initiative dedicated to people aged 50+

Through a weekly timetable of low impact sport and physical activity, Active 50 offers a range of free and low-cost sessions that are led by our friendly coaching and volunteer team. From football and pickleball to walking groups and yoga, there is something for every ability and interest.

Through a weekly timetable of low impact sport and physical activity, Active 50 offers a range of free and low-cost sessions that are led by our friendly coaching and volunteer team. From football and pickleball to walking groups and yoga, there is something for every ability and interest.

By 2025, it’s estimated that over 2 million people age 50+ will experience loneliness and isolation.

How can we help?

Our popular Active 50 programme supports people to feel better – physically, mentally and socially. We believe that everyone deserves to feel the huge benefits of sport and fitness, and should access them regardless of age or experience. Our sessions provide the perfect opportunity to get moving and meet friendly people in your local area.

Key Benefits

We have an exciting variety of sessions running from Monday to Friday every week, all of which are designed to be low impact whilst still providing a fun challenge! Choose from walking or running football sessions, Pilates, tai chi, pickleball, circuits, yoga, Zumba and more.

Joining Active 50 is not only an opportunity to try something new and improve fitness, but also provides a chance to meet new people and have fun.

We know of the huge benefits that being active has on our physical health, but those benefits impact our mental health positively too. People that join Active 50 are more likely to have reduced stress levels, happier moods and increased self-esteem, all whilst benefiting from improved sleep and increased energy levels.
