Our holiday camps at F51, designed for disadvantaged children on free school meals, sold out within 24 hours. This remarkable response highlights the community’s need and eagerness for accessible recreational opportunities. Unfortunately, this overwhelming demand means that many children missed out on the chance to enjoy free skating and climbing activities throughout the summer holidays.
With over 300 children now on the waitlist, there is a pressing need to accommodate more participants. In response, Holiday Extras has generously stepped in to sponsor additional sessions. Their support will enable the park to open on Friday mornings exclusively for children under 16, starting with those on the waitlist and then extending to the general public.
Thanks to Holiday Extras, children under 16 can enjoy free skating every Friday between 10 am and 2 pm as part of the ‘More Holiday Adventure’ sessions. These sessions will run from August 2nd to August 30th, providing a fantastic opportunity for young people to engage in fun and healthy activities.
Holiday Extras has also kindly covered the cost of hiring skating equipment, ensuring that all children, regardless of their personal circumstances, can participate fully. This initiative aims to make the summer holidays more enjoyable and adventurous for children who might otherwise miss out.
The ‘More Holiday Adventures’ sessions represent a significant effort to include as many children as possible in these enriching activities. While the initial holiday camps filled up quickly, the additional Friday sessions offer a valuable second chance for many families.
