Folkestone Sea Sports

Our venue on the coast, dedicated to water sports

The Sports Trust are proud to operate Folkestone Sea Sports, our licenced venue situated on the historic harbour of Folkestone. Surrounded by our treasured coastline, the venue enjoys incredible views across the English Channel to France.

Offering kayak, paddleboard and powerboat courses by our fully qualified instructors, we aim to support people to enjoy our natural environment and build essential confidence in water safety.

Our venue also rents our paddleboards and kayaks for people to discover our beautiful coastline at their own leisure.

Harnessing our charity values, Folkestone Sea Sports demonstrates our commitment to Fun, Originality, Local People, Kindness and Equality.

Playing a vital role in our mission, Folkestone Sea Sports is committed to creating inspiring and inclusive spaces for people to love sport and exercise, whatever their motivations may be. Through a series of projects, sessions and initiatives we aim to make Sea Sports accessible to all regardless of age, ability or background.

Engaging our Communities

Fighting Hunger Poverty

Through the Holiday Activities and Food Programme, we provide healthy, nutritious food and exciting, enriching activities for children and young people during the school holidays.

Families of children aged 4 to 16 years, who are eligible for benefits related to free school meals can access these opportunities during school holidays.

It is widely recognised that parents will skip meals to ensure their children are fed during school holidays. With other children going hungry over the break and starting the school term in a disadvantaged position.

We want to support all who face hunger poverty, and take part in the HAF Programme to support the physical and mental wellbeing of children and young people in our district, encouraging them to engage in interactive and fun activities with access to nutritious food.

Working with Schools

We understand the importance of an active and healthy lifestyle, we also recognise how important it can be to develop social skills, confidence and self-esteem. We work closely with schools to ensure that children are confident on the water and gain crucial knowledge for local young people in water safety.

During our sessions, children have the opportunity to try various craft which they may never have experienced before and gain new skills which we hope they will continue to develop in the future.

All of our professional instructors are fully qualified, first aid trained and hold DBS certified documentation.
